Greece is the place where philosophy was born and thrived. Accompanied by a member of our team, you will journey through time in all the philosophical movements of ancient Greece and discover deep connections with our Myths and Gods of Olympus.
Democracy, physics, astronomy, ethics and many other applied sciences stem from philosophy and, naturally, philosophers are considered the world’s first intellectuals. Through a 4 hour private walking tour you will learn every interesting fact about philosophers from Thales of Miletus to Socrates and Plato, and from Aristotle to the Cynic philosopher Diogenes of Sinope, whose famous answer towards Alexander the Great “Stand out of my sunlight”, when he was asked whether there was any favour he might do for him, is indicative of his character.
Along with a Be a Greek member you will get acquainted with the most important myths of the ancient greek world such as the story behind the birth of goddess Athena and everything around mischievous god Hermes.

After meeting with a member of our team outside Panepistimio Metro station we will begin our journey from the famous Trilogy of Athens, work of the great architect, Theofilus Hansen and we’ll admire great statues of famous sculptors of the 19th century. While admiring these architectural miracles, we will have the opportunity to talk about two of the most famous philosophers of antiquity, Socrates and Plato. We will, also, get the chance to discuss about god Apollo and goddess Athena, two gods so different from each other, but with many common characteristics than someone might think.
Afterwards we will be heading to the Greek Parliament and the National Gardens, discovering the life of Epicurus and his philosophical school, known as the Garden, followed by a walk down the most commercial street of Athens, Ermou street, named after the god of merchants, Hermes, where we will have the opportunity to admire an 11th century temple known as Kapnikarea and discuss all about Aristotle and his Lyceum philosophical school. After we enjoy a greek coffee at a cozy café in Thissio area and have a great talk about the Pre-Socratic philosophers we will find ourselves next to the Ancient Agora, the place where Stoic philosophy was born in the Poikile Stoa.
Our next stop will be Plaka area and Anafiotika, on the foot of the Acropolis, with Cinic philosophers on our side. While admiring the famous Tower of Winds, we will learn everything about Aiolos, the keeper of the winds. Our tour will be concluded on the Areopagus hill with a breathtaking view of the Acropolis and more myths about the Olympian gods.
