Born and raised in downtown Athens, a typical modern, old-fashioned Greek. An avid traveller, started flying around all over Europe at the age of 6 and never stopped since. I appreciate diversity, having lived abroad in northern Italy all my adult life, studying and working to become an M.D., I returned in Greece in 2014. Constantly on the move, I love swimming but also savour a good meal and a glass of good wine. I really like to enjoy everyday small things and share my passion for the Hellenic way of life.
Geia sas! I am Antonis, half Athenian and half Tinian (Tinos is a beautiful Cycladic island). I grew up in the urban districts of Athens, enjoying my summer holidays in Tinos, a fact that made me adore the sea and the marble art. Ever since I was a child I was dreaming of traveling all over the world, but I had to wait until I became a grown up to start my adventures. Having travelled abroad in more than 15 countries and 45 cities, I am sure that the only way to have a place engraved in your memory is by engaging with the locals, tasting the traditional cuisine and walking in places that no touristic guide can reveal. So, I am waiting for you either in Athens or in Tinos to show you what it really feels to Be a Greek!
Yeia sas! My name is Katerina and I was raised in Samos, the hometown of Pythagoras. I moved to Athens in 2009 to study History & Archaeology and I live here since then. On my travels I love to explore the everyday life of the locals and see the differences and the similarities with my way of living. I believe travel broadens ones mind and helps them be more receptive. Combining adventure with archaeological monuments and great local food is the ideal itinerary for my travels. Considering myself as one, I love working with children and spend time with families who want to explore Athens. I can’t wait to meet you, share the beauties of my country with you and discover your story as well!
Ya sas! My name is Alexandros and I am an archaeologist – museologist and a licensed tourist guide. I hold a BA in History and Archaeology and a MA in Museology – Cultural Management from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. I work as a tour guide in Athens and at the same time I am a museum educator in one of Athens’ most acclaimed museums. I am looking forward to introducing you to the city’s history, art and culture.
Hello! My name is Vicky and I was born and raised in Athens, a city that harmoniously combines the past with the present. Since I was a child, I enjoyed walking in the city center with my family, feeling awed by being under the Acropolis, walking through the same narrow alleys where Socrates and Pericles lived. I studied Philosophy-Pedagogy-Psychology and now I am a PhD Candidate in School Psychology. I have an extensive experience working with children, adolescents and parents. Combining my love for both children and my country, you will find me designing activities for kids that will allow them to experience Greece through playing!
Hi, my name is Maria and I was born and raised in Athens. Since I was a child, I always loved reading stories about the Greek myths, gods and heroes. So I decided to turn my passion into a career by studying History and Archaeology. By becoming a guide, I was able to find a job I Iove and I feel fortunate to have the opportunity to meet people from all around the world and share my knowledge of Greek history and culture. As a local I am happy to reveal the secrets of Athens to visitors and help them discover the authentic side of our city.
Hello! My name is Eve but I adore myth-history more than apples! I remember myself being the kid that always came home with dirt on its knees, a spoon in the pocket (the ultimate “digging tool”) and many stories to share about what I had unearthed. So, I followed my heart and studied Archaeology and got a Tour Guiding license too. And here I am now enjoying being an “ambassador” of my country’s rich past & present, interacting with you, exchanging cultures, sharing knowledge & experiences.
KALIMERA! My name is Dimitris Katsoulis and I'm a licensed tourist guide. I have studied History and Archaeology and I’m specialized in Byzantine Archaeology and Art. I work as a field archaeologist and I have also been a professional violinist for over 22 years. My interests include history, music, technology, astronomy and martial arts. “Being a Greek” is much more than a title acquired at birth. ”Being a Greek” is a way of living, a comprehensive philosophy towards life, so let me get you familiarized with the essence, the style and the beauties of my country!
Welcome to Greece! I am Eirini Alexopoulou and I have studied Archaeology in the University of Athens with a specialisation in Classical Antiquity. I became a licensed guide in 2017 and since then I have been working full time. In the past I had worked as a tour leader and travelled in several countries. The hellenic civilisation is my absolute passion and Athens my beloved hometown. Apart from my main field of education, I studied History, Philosophy, Paleography and participated in the production of the tv series We and the Ancient Greeks and in the publication of works of ancient Greek authors. My work as a guide complements my archaeological background and fills me with joy and sense of purpose, as I connect with people from all over the world and discover our common human experience. I'll be very happy and honoured to share part of this journey with you.
